Guest Spot News

November 18th, 2005

Hi everybody! It’s been a little while, but I’ll be stepping into the booth once more very soon. I’ll be returning to my primordial home as a club DJ; in December, almost 5 years after assuming DJ duties at it’s opening, I’ll be doing the DJ thing at Flux in New Haven.

The super-awesome Phil Phaid has invited me to spin with him on December 28th. While the resident at Flux, Phil was one of my favorite guests as he would spin the stuff I was never able to spin well, and he kicks ass while doing it. This could also possibly be the last time you can see us team up in the DJ booth for a night of rocking out.

It will be good. You should be there.

John Peel Day

October 13th, 2005

It’s John Peel day. You should be listening to Radio 1 right now. From 2-8pm (EST) they’re doing a Peel tribute, playing stuff from Peel sessions and from the live concerts that are happening all over the U.K.

Do it.

Do it now.

Blogified!

July 18th, 2005

Yes, folks, theantidj.net has been blogified! This should allow me to keep the site much more up to date and interesting. You can even get the RSS feed for your reading convenience.

In addition to posting news and playlists, I’ll probably start throwing up CD reviews as I get new stuff.

All of that being said, be advised, this is still a ‘beta’ site stylistically, and I will be working out the kinks over the coming days.

Enjoy!

Overdue Update

July 10th, 2005

The AntiDJ still lives! Although my first year here in Pittsburgh has seen decreased AntiDJing, I haven’t retired yet. Over the past year, I’ve made mulitple guest appearances at each Bound Hartford, Flux, and Ceremony. Playlists from some of these appearances have been added.

Many more guest spots are in the works, and the site will probably be going through at least a minor overhaul soon, so stay tuned.

Relocation

July 8th, 2004

I’ve been really bad about updating this site. Anyway, after finishing up my Master’s degree in May, I was hired by the University of Pittsburgh. I moved down to Pittsburgh in mid-June. DJ Azrael has been named as the new DJ at Bound, and Flux has been taken over by a team of four great DJS: DJ Canuck, DJ Phil, The Nurse, and DJ Sekt.

As of right now, my DJ activities are mostly on hold. I’m mainly focused on settling in and getting used to the new job. However, I hope to set up some guest DJ sets in Pittsburgh soon. I also may be visiting Connecticut in the near future, so look for announcements about CT guest sets.

The Industry Standard returns

February 2nd, 2004

My return to radio has been confirmed. The Industry Standard Show will air every Monday afternoon from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on 91.7 WHUS at UConn. From the website you can listen to a live audio stream.

Also, don’t forget that Bella Morte and ThouShaltNot will be performing at Bound this Saturday!!

January 3rd, 2004

Happy New Year and all of that stuff. We’ve just confirmed our plans for the February Bound. We will be having Bella Morte and ThouShaltNot performing live! Bella Morte last joined us at Bound in January of 2003 for our “Gothfather” night. I believe that this will be ThouShaltNot’s Connecticut premiere. The theme for the evening will be “Night of the Living Bands”.

In other news, on Monday, January 19, I will be DJing at The Konstrukt, the new gothic/industrial night that is opening in Springfield. Their opening night will be this Monday, January 5. I believe that it is taking place at a venue called The Salty Dog. More info when I have it. Also, the playlists section has been updated.

December 9th, 2003

I will have a couple of guest sets coming up in the near future. In early January, it looks like I’ll be spinning at Perversion in Worcester, MA. Tom (of Bound photography fame) and I came up with a plan when we visited Perversion last week. When I do my guest set, we’re going to try and get together as many people as possible for the “Outward-BOUND in-FLUX”: An invasion of Perversion by Flux and Bound patrons. They have a nice venue up there, so we think it’d be fun to have a big outing.

It also looks like I will be DJ’ing at an event in New York City in the coming weeks. I’ll post more information once that spot is confirmed.

November 27th, 2003

Starting on December 10th, I will once again be DJing weekly at Flux. I initially went bi-weekly when we shifted to Wednesdays due to a conflict with my academic schedule. By the 10th, though, the semester will be done, and I”ll be back! Much thanks go to DJ Sekt and Nurse Mengele who were also serving as residents at Flux for the past couple of months.

As you can see the site is up. It is a work in progress, so bear with me here. If you’re looking at it and saying, “This site seems to lack content,” you’re probably right. That would be mostly do to a the fact that I, as person, lack content. I’ll try to make some stuff up as I go along.

January 23rd, 2003

I may be back on the airwaves soon. I’ve applied for a show at WHUS up at UConn. ‘HUS is where I started as a DJ. The schedule won’t be announced until February 2nd. I’m hoping they find some room for me back there. Should it go through, details will be posted here
